Let’s delve into understanding anatomy and physiology of the pelvic floor using breath and movement in this experiential pelvic floor yoga workshop. Kelly will share her depth of knowledge that focuses on stabilizing, strengthening, stretching and lengthening the pelvic floor muscles for a deeper connection to the body and yoga practice. We will begin with an hour anatomy lecture and discussion, followed by an in depth hour of an embodiment with a yoga practice to awaken your understanding and integrate what you learned into the body.
Pelvic Floor Health is important for all ages and genders, and if possible best to learn as a preventative practice before issues arise. A strong and balanced pelvic floor helps to keep the pelvic and abdominal organs healthy and is the foundation for posture, alignment, core strength and breath. We will learn how to use props and asana specific to the pelvic floor with handouts for further practice.
