Peer Support Specialist Training (5-Day Course), Pay at Door

Important: This is a single, week-long certification program in which registration is for all five days of training. Attendance throughout the full course is required to be a certified Peer Support Specialist. The $425 fee is a single, one-time fee and not a daily rate.
This 40-hour OHA approved training for Peer Support Specialists, with emphasis in Adult Addictions, is designed for adults who have lived experiencing in addiction and are looking to build a strong foundation for long-term success. Participants will learn practical coping skills, healthy communication, stress management, trauma informed care, and ways to strengthen their support network. Led in a safe, respectful, and supportive environment, the class encourages personal growth, connection with peers, and the development of tools for peer support foundation. Whether you are new to peer support or looking to reinforce your progress in this field, this class provides encouragement, education, and hope every step of the way. At successful completion of the class, attendees will receive a certificate of completion which will then allow for submission to OHA to be a certified Peer Support Specialist. The training will also cover the following:
- Roles and responsibilities
- Effective communication skills
- Building rapport and establishing trust
- Crisis intervention techniques
- Self-care and stress management
- Ethics and boundaries
The class begins at 9AM and ends at 4PM each day from Monday, October 19th through Friday, October 23rd.
