Cooley Dickinson Hospital now offers a course directed toward school nurses, EMTs and other healthcare providers who infrequently care for critically ill pediatric patients. The Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) course teaches a systematic approach to assess and stabilize a pediatric patient in an emergency situation through appropriate lifesaving interventions within the initial minutes of response, until a child can be transferred to an advanced life support provider.
