Pedals & Pride: Juneteenth Community Bike Ride (Bike Your Neighborhood)

Join us as we kick off Bike Your Neighborhood’s fourth season with purpose, movement, and celebration. Pedals & Pride is a Juneteenth community bike ride co-hosted by the , with special guest Mayor Justin Bibb.
In honor of Juneteenth, we’ll celebrate Mt. Pleasant’s rich Black history and legacy with a leisurely 9-mile bike ride through Buckeye-Shaker and Mt. Pleasant. Along the way, we’ll uplift stories, landmarks, and the cultural impact of African Americans in Cleveland—guided by and the .
We’ll make a stop at the Thea Bowman Center to learn about its connection to local black history and enjoy grilled hot dogs and burgers (vegetarian option included).
More than a bike ride, this free event will include multiple bike giveaways, bike helmet give aways, food, ice cream, art, and opportunities to connect with friends, neighbors and partners.

BIKE GIVEAWAY: Anyone who rents a bike will be entered into a raffle drawing to win a bike from Joy Machines Bike Shop, the Ohio City Bicycle Co-Op, or another partner.
RIDE DETAILS
- Date: Saturday, June 13
- Meetup / Roll Out: 10:30 AM / 11:30 AM (arrive early for rentals and fittings)
- Start/End Location: Amos Norwood Park (12805 Drexmore Rd., behind Dave’s Shaker Square)
- Distance: ~9 miles through Buckeye-Shaker & Mt. Pleasant
WHAT TO BRING
Hydration of choice, a helmet (strongly encouraged), and a bike in good working condition if you’re bringing your own. We’ll have an air pump on hand.
REMINDERS
- Free bike rentals available with a valid I.D. starting at 10:30 AM (first-come, first-served)
- Sign the before or at the ride

WHAT TO WEAR, WHAT NOT TO WEAR
- Wear your favorite Juneteenth gear or cultural athletic attire (shorts/leggings, t-shirt, moisture-wicking tee/tank, sneakers).
- Avoid wearing open-toe shoes, rigid fabrics like jeans, or anything flowy or baggy that can snag
