Our planning fell a bit behind, so we're publicizing this later than we wanted, BUT on Saturday, October 5th we're hosting a bike ride fundraiser to help support our housing counseling program. Pedal for Prosperity is a self-supported bike ride (meaning that you ride on your own, at your own pace, and take care of any maintenance issues that come up) that will start at the large picnic shelter next to Levings Lake. We've asked expert route planner, Scott Garwick, to put together two routes of about 15 miles each. One route is an urban route that stays in the City of Rockford. The second route heads west from Rockford toward Winnebago. Registration is $30 and lunch will be provided. We're setting off at 9:00 AM and everything will wrap up at 1:30. You can ride either route, both routes, or the same route multiple times. Whatever you like, enjoy, and are feeling up to that day! Please note that Zeffy does not charge ZION for processing fees, so they will ask you to donate to cover those costs. You can choose to do so if you like and you can choose what percent of the registration fee you want to donate. The default is a bit high, but we appreciate that we are able to receive 100% of the registration fees through this site. 😀
