Celebrate Philly Jazz Month at the Barnes during April's PECO Free First Sunday Family Day!This month’s program highlights the next generation of musicians with performances by Equinox, an instrumental quartet of standout students from the Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts. Presented in partnership with the School District of Philadelphia's MIC’d Up (Music Industry Classrooms), the event showcases young artists whose sound draws from bebop, Brazilian and Latin jazz, as well as R&B, funk, and hip-hop.
Families can also enjoy art-making activities led by teaching artists from Fleisher Art Memorial’s ColorWheels, a scavenger hunt in the galleries, and interactive storytime with Thembi Palmer of Imagine More Story Adventures.
