Discover the hidden landscapes of Broads' peatlands on a guided walkJoin us for a fascinating guided walk around this unique part of the Broads.
Discover the hidden landscape of the peatland, its wildlife, history, and current management. You will learn about the history of Broads peatlands, how they have been drained for centuries, and how this area is being restored back to former wetland that will eventually become a carbon sink. Buttle Marsh is a wildlife site which sits in a curve of the River Ant. A new wetland restoration project will raise the water levels here, restoring “peat forming” conditions, meaning the marsh will once again fulfil its natural function as a carbon sink, aiding the fight against climate change.
