DEIRDRE DIXON, PHD – THE UNIVERSITY OF TAMPA
After spending 22 years as an Army officer with experience in Iraq, Deirdre Dixon decided to apply her knowledge and practical leadership experience to teaching and designing leadership programs. Deirdre is a graduate of West Point, and she taught leadership there. She earned her MBA from Duke University, and her PhD in Management from Case Western Reserve University. Her area of research interest is in extremis leadership, or leadership when the leader’s life is in danger, looking at military, police and firefighters.
Deirdre is also involved with studying resiliency in US Navy SEAL candidates. Deirdre has served on several local non-profit boards, including the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida, the Tampa Theater, and she was elected to the national West Point Association of Graduates board for her second three-year term. Her teaching focus is strategy and leadership.
COLETTE GLOVER-HANNAH – HANNAH’S SHOEBOX
Colette Glover-Hannah is the Founder/CEO of Hannah’s Shoebox, an e-commerce shoe store that provides a solution for families looking for age-appropriate shoes for tween girls who wear women size shoes.
In addition to serving as CEO of Hannah’s Shoebox, Colette is also co-author of Mompreneur: Managing, Presentations, Parenthood and Partnerships, which examines the art of attempting to balance the simultaneous demands of family, motherhood and entrepreneurship.
Before creating Hannah’s Shoebox, Colette was an Associate Vice President for Community Relations at the University of South Florida, where she created many sustainable programs throughout communities in the Tampa Bay region.
Colette is a member of the Tampa Bay Chamber Board of Directors, the 2020 Chair of the Tampa Chamber’s Minority Business Accelerator Program and a member of the Tampa Chamber’s Women of Influence Committee.
KARI GOETZ
Kari Goetz is no stranger to reinvention and change. An actor in professional film, television and stage productions from the time she was 10 years old, Kari has had a colorful and unique path to leadership.
Kari is the Chief Advancement Officer for United Way Suncoast. In her short tenure, she has overseen major change, both through the challenges of fundraising in a pandemic and the unprecedented $20MM transformational gift from MacKenzie Scott. Previously the Vice President of External Relations and Marketing for The Florida Aquarium, she raised the profile of the Aquarium and set historic revenue and attendance records for the beloved institution. Prior to that, she made history as the first director of marketing for Tampa International Airport. Kari has been an audience development professional for the Straz Center, and still performers and directs with Stageworks Theatre and Jobsite Theater. A Second City Hollywood founder, Kari uses her love of improv comedy to build workshops and MBA programs for students and business leaders at USF and Wayne State University.
