Mabel was a 19th-20th Century pioneer in documenting, preserving, and creating local Lincolnshire folklore material, alongside contemporary scientific and philosophical studies. But did you know Mabel Peacock was also a playwright? There are six playscripts thought to have been written by Mabel in the Peacock family archive. Though one play stands out, attributed to a mysterious and unknown author: a ‘Lucian Wetherell’. Who is Lucian ‘Wetherell’? And why was ‘his’ play among Mabel's manuscripts?
