Peacing Out presents: Death Cafe

The Death Cafe model was developed by Jon Underwood and Sue Barsky Reid, based on the ideas of Bernard Crettaz.

A Death Cafe is a group-led discussion about death, with no specific agenda, objectives, or themes. It serves as a discussion forum rather than a grief support or counseling session.

The intention of a death cafe is to facilitate a compassionate, open discussion on death and dying, demystifying and connecting over our shared impermanence.

We are witnessing significant loss in various forms—people, cultures, languages, ways of life, climate, and systems. While sharing on this is not mandatory, this Death Cafe is a space that is hosted through the lenses of liberation and decolonization.

This Death Cafe is facilitated by Sula Johnson, end of life doula and facilitator.
