In Southern culture there is a lot of emphasis on politeness, good manners and being nice. However, being nice is not always the same thing as being good. This Sunday we will reflect on the life and legacy of the civil rights leader the Reverend Jim Lawson whose commitment to nonviolent social change began when he was a 4 year old child who responded to another child’s racist insult with a solid punch.
