Peace Across Faiths: Interfaith Program, Picnic & Ice Cream Social

This event has been a traditional kickoff of the Arkansas Peace Week with an evening of reflections and prayers. During this time, we will celebrate peace from different faiths and non-faith perspectives as we enjoy a meal and make new friends.
Prior to the program, there will be a "Bring Your Own" meal picnic. We will provide Icec Cream and Water. Please bring your blanket or lawn chairs as we spread out on the grounds to ensure social distancing.
EVENT SCHEDULE
5:30 pm - Arrival and Picnic
6:15 pm – Ellen Brown, Opening and Introduction to the AR Peace Week
6:20 pm – Short presentations by each speaker:
- Maylee Rollins – Board Member, ACPJ (Youth Perspective)
- Hon. Annabelle Imber Tuck – Board Member, The Interfaith Center and Exec. Vice President, Congregation B’Nai Israel (Jewish Perspective)
- Mohammed Nawaz – Imam, Madina Institute and Mosque (Muslim Perspective)
- Dr. Jay McDaniel – Professor Emeritus, Religion & Philosophy, Hendrix College (Perspective of Nones)
- Maya Uwaydat – Board Member, ACPJ (Youth Perspective)
- Marquis Hunt – Spiritual Influencer, Poet, Writer, Composer, Producer (Music and Closing Prayer)

The event will be planned with COVID-19 safety protocols. All guest over 12 must have Covid-19 Vaccination. Face coverings are required for all persons present. Hand sanitation stations, youth and adult masks will be available for guests. Guest are not allowed to enter if: they have fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, or loss of taste or smell; or they have had known exposure to someone with Covid-19 in the past 14 days. Guest are advised that they may wish to refrain from entering if: They are 65 years of age or older; or if they have underlying health conditions including high blood pressure, chronic lung disease, diabetes, severe obesity, asthma, or weakened immunity
