Join Pea Ohana Watersports & our partners River Rangers International, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, American Rivers, the City of Zanesville, Discover Diving & Paintball, and the Muskingum Riverway Advocacy Council for the 2024 River Clean-Up!
Flow down the Muskingum & Licking Rivers in a kayak or stay shore-bound in your cleanup efforts to beatify your local waterway. Food & Drink provided to all following the clean-up thanks to our generous sponsors!
Building on the success of their 2023 cleanup, which earned the Muskingum Water and Soil Non-Agriculture Award and recognition from the American National River Cleanup, Pea Ohana Watersports and its partners aim to make a significant impact on the local waterways.
This year's event will focus on a 4-mile stretch of the Licking and Muskingum Rivers, from the Dillon Falls public access point to Putnam Landing in Zanesville. Participants can choose between on-water cleanup in kayaks or canoes, or contribute to efforts on dry land at Dillon Falls Park, Historic Lock #10 Canal Park, Lee Eppley Park, Confluence Park, the Y-Bridge, and Putnam Landing Park.
Shuttle services will be available for volunteers bringing their own kayaks and canoes at no cost. Additionally, the Muskingum County Community Foundation has sponsored free kayak rentals to the first 20 registrants. Regular kayak rentals will be available for $15 each after the initial 20 slots are filled.
Pea Ohana Watersports extends its deepest gratitude to the following corporate and community sponsors whose generous contributions make this event possible:
• The Muskingum County Community Foundation: Donating free kayak rentals for the first 20 registrants.
• The Onion Bag Litter Prevention Project: Providing cleaning supplies and waste disposal expertise.
• Paul Construction Company: Contributing essential equipment and logistical support.
• Maxwell's Pizza, The Barn, Superior Beverage Group, and Bucked Up Energy: Donating food, drinks, and other refreshments to fuel our dedicated volunteers.
Their commitment to environmental stewardship and community well-being is instrumental in making the Pea Ohana Watersports River Cleanup a success.
