This exciting event will bring together renowned AI experts to explore cutting-edge advancements, emerging challenges, and ethical considerations in artificial intelligence. The symposium will feature insightful talks from Dr. Yisong Yue (Caltech) on The Power of AI, Dr. Jay Kuo (USC) on Green AI and Sustainable AI Development, Dr. Tony Chan (Former KAUST & HKUST President) on AI, Machine Learning, and Mathematical Science, and Dr. Marty Verhoeven (DRBU) on Ethical Issues and Challenges in AI. The event will conclude with a panel discussion and networking session, providing attendees with the opportunity to engage with experts, ask questions, and explore career paths in AI. Whether you’re a student, educator, or professional, this symposium offers valuable insights into the future of AI. Don’t miss this chance to be part of the conversation!
This FREE EVENT is for high school students (one parent/guardian per student is welcome to join). There is no cost to attend but space is limited - register early! Register for as many Saturdays as you’d like.
The event begins at 1:20pm and ends at 4:30pm. Make sure to arrive 10 minutes early to check-in for the event.
An official registration packet will be sent a week prior to each STEM Saturday event via email.
FAQs
Where do I drop-off my student or park for the event?
Parking for attendees is available for free in PCC Parking Lot 3, entered on S. Hill or E. Del Mar.
For student drop-off, you can drive into Lot 3; enter on S. Hill or E. Del Mar. Follow the campus map attached to get to the R Building. The Mathematical Science STEM Saturday event will take place in the CC Building

Will my student be chaperoned at all times during the event?
PCC faculty and student mentors will be present in the classroom area the whole time.
Will food be served as part of the event?
No food or drinks will be available at the event. If you’d like a snack, bring your own. There will be a break where you can enjoy any snacks or drinks that you bring.
What safety measures will be implemented?
All attendees will be provided with necessary personal protective equipment. All attendees need to sign the safety agreement specific for each activity.
