Start your 2026 year of comics with artist and comic maker Sally Henderson, who'll share practical tips on workflow and hands-on exercises on the art of story crafting.
Learn how to transform memories into new ideas, translate your feelings to your audience and make your memories magic! Discover how the renowned screenwriting structure that made "How to Train Your Dragon" could help you with your next comic, along with a practical exercise on emotion driven storytelling given to Disney and DreamWorks story artist recruits.
PLUS - it's Hourly Comic Day, so a great way to come and get motivated!
Paper and some materials will be provided, but please bring your favourite drawing utensils.
Note that our Academy sessions are community meet-ups planned for adults. Attendees under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian.
Location: The fully accessible Geographe Room on the ground floor of the State Library of WA. Drinks and dry snacks welcome if you clean up after yourself. Please do not leave any items behind.
