This special evening offers a first look at the highly anticipated half-hour special before its broadcast premiere on PBS NC later that evening. Narrated by Grammy Award-winning bluegrass artist Woody Platt, Ten to Try: By Way of the Blue Ridge spotlights 10 unforgettable experiences along the Blue Ridge Parkway. From an exhilarating motorcycle ride near Little Switzerland and a visit to the nation's oldest Native American arts cooperative in Cherokee to high-elevation stargazing at Waterrock Knob, fly-fishing in Ashe County, and an accessible therapy hike in Jackson County, the program highlights the landscapes, traditions, and people that make the Blue Ridge region so remarkable.
More than a travel show, this special celebrates the beauty, culture, and spirit of North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains and the communities that call them home. Through inspiring stories and breathtaking scenery, viewers will discover new destinations and perhaps find inspiration for their own Blue Ridge adventure.
As part of this exclusive premiere event, guests will enjoy a special screening, and have the opportunity to meet featured guests and hear directly from the PBS North Carolina production team about the making of the program.
