Doors open and lesson at 7:00 pm Two hours of live music (8-10) followed by DJ Dance until 11:00. Full bar and food for purchase.
Cover is a sliding fee scale of $0-$20. NO CASH. Point of sale debit or credit.
Zydeco and Blues are kissing cousins so please come join our debut partnership with Portland Blues and Jazz (PB&J). Tuesday Blues dancing queen Julia Box will give a blues dance lesson followed by our own David Seitz and Patti Lind with a zydeco lesson.
Following the lessons, come dance to Frottoir a’ Trois, the acoustic trio of our friends from Too Loose; Jennifer Smieja, Lefty Head and Steve Kerin. The playlist will be a gumbo of blues, zydeco, Cajun, swamp pop and waltzes.
The philosophy of PB&J is to make social dancing inclusive for all. Their gracious invitation to be a sponsor and teach a class at the recent annual Rose City Blues Dance Festival and what we hope will be a 5th Tuesday ongoing collaboration is greatly appreciated.
