About this Event
As the spring warmth returns to Columbus, both dogs and people are eager to get outside and enjoy the sunshine. To ensure these interactions remain joyful and safe for everyone, join us at The Pollen Patch for an insightful afternoon dedicated to understanding our four-legged neighbors.
Led by Rebecca King from the Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center, this free community session is designed for adults and children alike. Whether you are a dedicated dog owner or someone who simply enjoys interacting with pups in public, you will walk away with the skills to "read" a dog’s comfort levels and navigate outdoor encounters with confidence.
What to Expect:
- Expert Guidance: Learn from a top-tier behaviorist on how to interpret canine body language and "dog speak."
- Live Demonstration: Rebecca will be joined by her own dog, Ed, to demonstrate safe approach techniques and stress-free handling.
- Hands-On DIY Treats: Visit our "Make & Take" station to assemble your own healthy, two-ingredient dog treats (pumpkin and peanut butter) to take home to your favorite pup.
- Garden Refreshments: Sip on a complimentary cup of freshly brewed herbal tea while you enjoy the spring blooms in the garden.
