About this Event
*please note start time*
Join Golden Eagle Audubon for a different kind of birding experience. Our ‘Pause, Look & Listen’ series incorporates a mindful birding approach to observing birds and being in nature.
This is an opportunity to connect with nature in a small-group setting that encourages personal observation and reflection.
We will spend most of the hour sitting as a group to observe what birds we can see and hear while being stationary. This should facilitate learning from each other while allowing birds to come to us.
Bring your binoculars, chair, blanket, or whatever you like to enjoy some time being (mostly) still in nature while we immerse ourselves in the sights and sounds along the Boise River as they transition through the seasons.
‘Pause, Look, & Listen’ is appropriate for birders of every level and for those with limited mobility or visual impairment. Participants under 12 years old must be accompanied by a guardian and guardians must sign the waiver for participants under 18 years old.
Pre-registration is required. Group size is limited to minimize disturbance while still providing a group experience. No transportation is available.
Meet in the parking lot near the main entrance at 8:30 am and be prepared to move less than 1/4 mile away on smooth paved and/or gravel paths.
Recent bird sightings can be found here: https://ebird.org/hotspot/L499524
There are no open restroom facilities on site. The nearest restroom is at the Chevron on Warm Springs Avenue, 0.6 miles west.
