Pauline Hibbert's Exhibition Memorial

The first solo exhibition of artworks by our dear coworker, comrade, friend, and talented artist Paula Hibbert-Lewis is at Victoria Library, (click the link for opening times), Westminster, from 27 March to 17 April 2023.

Paula Hibbert-Lewis, artist, librarian, musician and bibliophile, graduated with honours in Art and Design from Camberwell College of Arts, London, in 1994. Her art encompassed a wide range of subjects, styles and media from delicate drawings in pencil, pastel and charcoal to extrovert pallette knife abstracts in oil and acrylic paints. In her later years she concentrated on drawn and painted portraiture and abstract composite works in mixed media. Her creativity and eclectic artistic tastes were informed and inspired by her African and Irish heritage and a passionate interest in the Romantic art movement and the Pre-Raphaelites. She was preparing this exhibition when she tragically passed away after a long illness. Her family and friends have ensured its completion as a tribute to a greatly loved and exceptionally gifted artist.
