Seven‑time Grammy‑winning drummer Paul Wertico (Pat Metheny Group) comes to Barnaby’s for an intimate masterclass unlike anything normally available outside major conservatoires.
This is not a “bring your instrument” workshop.
This is a rare chance to sit just a few feet away from one of the most recorded drummers of the last four decades — a musician who has appeared on hundreds of albums across jazz, fusion, world music, singer‑songwriter projects and experimental sessions.
Paul is joined by guitarist Enrico Pinna — his long‑time collaborator and one of the most expressive fusion guitarists on the European scene. Enrico’s work with Paul spans tours, trio projects, recordings and masterclasses, and his playing has earned him a strong reputation among serious guitarists.
Together, they’ll perform, demonstrate and break down the real inner workings of ensemble playing:
how musicians communicate in real time
when to play — and when not to
how phrases are shaped and why
how rhythm sections and soloists interact
