Pattern Free: Neon Weekend with James Akers

An all levels, weekend neon class dedicated to playing with lines, shapes, textures and colors of light. Harness this eye grabbing tool of advertising for artistic purposes to create 2D or 3D luminous tube sculptures. Come with an open mind and be prepared to bend the rules, jumping off the page and into the fire.

What to Expect:  Bombarding and electrode attachment for 2 units of neon are included in this class, as well as a transformer (power) and wiring kit. Past 2 units, students will be charged for electrode attachment and pumping at these rates. Read more about how to prepare for class on our Registration Info page. 

Eligibility: Open to all levels. Open to ages 14 and up.

Pick-up: Neon tubes may be bombarded during the class, so students should leave with finished units of neon. Should processing take additional time, students will have to return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up their work. 

This is an in-person class taking place on-site at UrbanGlass. Health and safety guidelines will be emailed to you upon registration.
