The 4th of July is a time of celebration for all Americans, including our pets, but the robust festivities that accompany this holiday often cause immense stress and anxiety for pets and people alike, especially those who have served in the military and may associate those sounds with terrorizing memories. We want to help those who may find this holiday a little too stressful.This 4th of July, HSSA invites you to our second annual Patriots, Paws & Pages event from 6:30 PM, 7:45 PM, and 9:00 PM! A night where active duty and veterans of all branches of the military, and any other adults who want to participate, spend the evening in a calm and quiet environment reading to our shelter pets. This greatly helps our pets stay safe and relaxed throughout the evening.
