Patrick Duff’s concerts are mesmerising experiences that resonate deeply. Known for their still, engaging atmospheres and characterised by a haunting intimacy within the collective listening.

Critics have described Duff as a "celebrant" who uses his music to connect the audience to a sense of the divine.

"A show of pure magic, and a celebration of the sacred that keeps us from sinking into the darkness…"- The Arts Desk

In recent years, his concerts have been held in unique venues that lend a story of their own: abandoned cathedrals, historic silent film cinemas, country churches and theatres. Receiving standing ovations and roaring audience feedback, these concerts sell out fast - most recently within minutes.

"One of the UK’s most intriguing and compelling singer-songwriters"- BBC Radio

His music is timeless, personal and poetic, variously described as indie noir, avant-folk and even baroque pop. Duff describes his current songwriting as intuitive and spontaneous, with songs "writing themselves" inside him.

Transitioning from the raw indie rock energy of his 90s band Strangelove, his solo work has evolved into a more controlled and yet still visceral form of dark pop.

"Throughout his albums, he tells stories in a touching,in a wonderful way - very, very intense"- Radio 1

Duff began to earn his cult reputation as frontman of Strangelove, a band that never quite reached mainstream stardom but was deeply admired by heavyweights like Radiohead, Suede and the Manic Street Preachers.

For years, his status was tied to the image of a brilliant but doomed songwriter spiraling through addiction. This rock martyr aura solidified his place in indie history as someone who "sank as low as a man can go" but survived. (Buzz Magazine)

After his first solo album released by Harvest/EMI, he spent decades away from the music industry - appearing to shy away from the spotlight and playing small, random gigs only on occasion.

Continuing to write songs, most of his six solo albums were self-released.In 2022, he published his memoir “The Singer”, seemingly making peace with the past and being ready to more fully engage with the outside world again. Only then, was his back catalogue finally released digitally.

In 2024, the launch of his album ANOTHER WORD FOR ROSE led to high acclaim.

“An expansive, cinematic record that presents classic songwriting in a singular way. It is picturesque, intimate and ruthless. […] A triumph.”- Rough Trade

Now thirty years clean and sober, he is currently working on a new album expected in 2027.
