Pathways to Climate Careers

This in-person event will feature a panel with diverse collective experience in the climate sector and an opportunity to network with like-minded individuals passionate about tackling climate change. Whether you're a student, recent graduate, or seasoned professional looking to make a difference, this event is for you.

Amar Azucena Cid is the Deputy Director of Community Investments and Planning at the California Strategic Growth Council, a public policy office that brings State agencies together to coordinate the development of sustainable communities. Amar is a leader in community-centered climate justice, working at the intersection of housing, transportation, health, and environmental planning and policy. She is an expert in state and federal environmental justice principles, and is especially skilled at assembling diverse teams that create lasting change.

Grace Kaufman is a Senior Project Manager at Valley Vision, a nonprofit agency whose mission is to make the Sacramento Region's communities the most livable in the nation. Throughout her career, Grace has worked in the climate and energy field supporting local policymakers as well as public and nonprofit agencies committed to building thriving communities. She brings an expert voice on advocating for environmental justice, public health, and community-centered design.

Kate Wright is the Executive Director of Climate Mayors, an organization that connects U.S. mayors who are committed to accelerating equitable climate action in their cities. Kate has extensive experience in policy and program implementation, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, environmental justice, and climate-friendly advancement of economic growth. She is the former CEO of CivicWell and one of the creators of the CivicSpark Fellowship.

Orville Thomas is the CEO of the California Mobility Center, an organization committed to accelerating innovation and the commercialization of future mobility technologies. Orville has extensive experience leading collaborative efforts across public, private, and nonprofit sectors, and is a principal advocate for clean transportation, health equity, workforce development, and policy advancement.

There is free parking at the brewery, though it's a small lot. There is surrounding city parking, so pay attention to signs for metered parking. If you know others that are going, we recommend that you carpool!
