Music at Co-Cath Opens 2026–2027 Season with Joby Talbot's Acclaimed Path of Miracles
About this Event

Brooklyn's immersive choral theater ensemble invites audiences on a transformative musical pilgrimage inspired by the Camino de Santiago.

Widely regarded as one of the most important choral works of the twenty-first century, Path of Miracles traces the legendary Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route across northern Spain. Through soaring harmonies, rhythmic intensity, and immersive storytelling, Talbot's work follows pilgrims on a journey of hardship, transformation, and spiritual discovery.

Drawing inspiration from the four major stopping points along the Camino — Roncesvalles, Burgos, León, and Santiago — the work invites audiences into an experience that is at once ancient and deeply contemporary.

For this production, Music at Co-Cath will transform the Co-Cathedral into a living pilgrimage route, surrounding audiences with sound, movement, and theatrical elements that blur the boundary between performer and listener.

"Pilgrimage is one of humanity's oldest traditions," says Artistic Director Alejandro Zuleta. "People leave behind the familiar in search of something they cannot quite name. What makes Path of Miracles so extraordinary is that it reminds us that transformation is still possible. The Camino may provide the setting, but the real journey is one we all share: learning how to move through the world with greater wonder, deeper connection, and a fuller awareness of the miracle of being here."

As the opening chapter of MACC's season theme, That We Are Here Is a Miracle, the production explores the act of seeking: the human desire to move toward meaning, beauty, and connection.

All performances are free and open to the public with a suggested donation of $25.
