About this Event

Pianist Pat Coil has toured Japan, South America, Europe and the U.S. with such artists as Michael McDonald, Carmen McCrae, Olivia Newton John, Amy Grant, Vince Gill, Woody Herman and many others. Pat has recorded with many artists including Natalie Cole, Trisha Yearwood, Ernie Watts, Carmen McCrae, BeBe & CeCe Winans, Kenny Rogers, Travis Tritt, Peter Cetera, Woody Herman, Scott Henderson, and Michael McDonald.

During his L.A. years, Pat played on many movie and TV scores, including Star Trek - Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Murphy Brown, Dionne Warwick & Friends, Growing Pains, Major Dad, Spencer For Hire, The Grammy Awards and many more. He played for various artists on the Tonight Show, Arsenio Hall, & Conan O’Brien. Living now in Nashville TN, Pat continues his successful career composing, recording, performing, producing, arranging and teaching. He has composed, produced and performed on hundreds of underscores heard on a variety of media all over the world. Pat taught jazz piano, combos, and improvisation at Middle Tennessee State University, and was an Associate Professor of Jazz Studies at the University Of North Texas.

Pat has recorded six solo jazz albums of his own, the third one being a collaboration with Lyle Mays. “True North” and his new album “Birdhouse” are available at patcoil.com, cdbaby.com and I-Tunes. Saxophonist Jeff Coffin is a member of Dave Matthews Band, teaches at Vanderbilt University, and is the founder of Ear Up Records - a progressive record label dedicated to improvisational music. His contributions to the Nashville jazz scene go back nearly 30 years and his devotion to improvisational music and music education is well documented. His 14 years with Bela Fleck & the Flecktones garnered him 3 Grammy awards and established him as a leading saxophonist of his generation.

Keith Carlock is a professional drummer currently residing in New York City, NY and Nashville, TN. He has recorded and/or toured with such musical luminaries as John Mayer, Sting, Steely Dan, James Taylor, TOTO, Christopher Cross, Donald Fagen, Walter Becker, Diana Ross, Faith Hill, The Blues Brothers Band, Mike Stern, Leni Stern, David Johansen and the Harry Smiths, Richard Bona, Chris Botti, Wayne Krantz, Rudder, Harry Belafonte, Oz Noy, Larry Carlton, Clay Aiken, Rascal Flatts, Paula Abdul and Grover Washington, Jr, to name a few. Keith was recently voted number 1 Pop drummer, number 1 Fusion drummer, and number 1 Best All-Around drummer in Modern Drummer’s 2009 Readers Poll and would like to thank all that voted!

Guitarist and Harmonica player Pat Bergeson grew up in Batavia Illinois and moved to NYC where he honed his Jazz skills for 10 years. He was brought to Nashville by Chet Atkins in 1993 after hearing him on a demo tape. Pat recorded was featured on two of Chet's recordings "Read My Licks" and "Sneaking Around" with Jerry Reed. He has since worked with Lyle Lovett, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Suzy Bogguss, Tommy Emmanuel, Joey DeFrancesco, Annie Sellick, Alison Krauss ,Bill Frisell, Michael McDonald, Madeleine Peyroux, Benny Golson, etc.

Hailing from Columbus, Indiana, Brian Allen started playing the bass at age eleven. His playing won him several awards throughout high school, including the prestigious Louis Armstrong Jazz award. After graduating, he moved to Los Angeles to attend Musicians Institute. There he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music and also won the outstanding student of the year. Brian Allen was most recently on tour with Jonathan Davis of Korn in 2018. He is one of Nashville’s top recording bassists. He was nominated Bass Player of the year by the Academy of Country Music in 2018. Brian is also teaching a clinic series that will be touring in 2019 called Rhythm Section Master Class. Brian has performed a diverse range of live shows as well as recording sessions. His playing spans the musical spectrum from jazz to rock and everything in between.
