Pat Byrne
About this Event
Irish Singer Songwriter has made his living from music since 2005. He won the inaugural season of “The Voice” in Ireland back in 2012, and subsequently toured all over Ireland and Europe. But, he always had his sights set on the U.S.
Brought up entrenched in Irish culture and music; Storytelling, poetry and melody are in his blood. He grew up idolizing Irish folk artists like Luke kelly, Liam Clancy, Paul Brady, Planxty and Christy Moore. But, in his late teens and early twenties, American songwriters became his heroes.
Marrying his love of Irish traditional folk music, with the folk music of Canada and The United States, Pat found his voice. Think “Irish-Americana”.
His favorite writers were made in Texas. Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clarke and James McMurtry all played regularly in Austin. So that’s where he moved. He’s been there since 2017 and has quickly become a local favorite, winning a member’s choice grant from Austin’s Black Fret organization in 2022 and a Sold out Monday night Residency at The prestigious Saxon Pub.
He’s been putting out music regularly to critical acclaim, as well as playing all over the US, Including festivals such as SXSW, Americanafest, Kerrville Folk Festival, 30A Songwriters Festival, Mile of Music Festival, Folk Alliance International and much more.
He has opened for Shawn Colvin, Lady A, The Bros. landreth, Joe Ely and others, as well as headlining to sell out crowds in Texas regularly.
