Pastelitos & Painting

"Pastelitos and Painting" is a collaborative fundraising event presented by Corazones de Servicio (CDS), MomAwesome and Lourdes Academy. Our goal is to unite community members in support of Corazones de Servicio's mission serving the most resource challenged communities in the Dominican Republic, while celebrating the enduring legacy of Maggie Vazquez-Bello, the inspiration behind MomAwesome.

Following the tragic Surfside accident, Maggie Vazquez-Bello and 97 others lost their lives. Maggie's legacy of selfless service, love, laughter and light now continues to shine through her family's efforts in the creation of MomAwesome. As a way of putting Maggie's selfless legacy into work, CDS and MomAwesome have teamed up together to fundraise for an ongoing project benefitting over 800 students in a rural community within the Dominican Republic.

Our first fundraising event together will be Pastelitos and Painting! The event will invite participants to join us on August 4, 2024 for an afternoon filled with painting activities and delicious treats. Each participant will receive a canvas to paint on and take home with them at the end of the event. Participants will have a series of sketches to choose from. Each sketch was created by a Corazones de Servicio's team member and/or beneficiary of a CDS project.
