In Person class in Asheville. Open to all skill levels. Doable Dununbas is the topic for this drumming workshop in Asheville, taught by the amazing Robin Bountou Leftwich of Happy Beat Drumming. Bring your djembe and dununs if you have them (some will be available to borrow) and get ready for another day of intense learning and intense fun!
The dununba family of rhythms is both rich and complex. This class is designed to expose students to a dununba rhythm and to help them understand the intricacies of playing the djembe and dunun parts. This class will also help students play more challenging dunun parts that are upbeat and completing.
Classes are $100 if it's your first time taking this particular class. Repeats of classes are just $50. Payment can be made using PayPal to [email protected]. When you register, *please send an email* to [email protected] too, so we can plan for the size of the group.
The Passport series of classes gives drummers the opportunity to develop skills, learn new rhythms and have fun drumming with a great group of drummers. Each class of the Passport series is appropriate for beginners as well as more experienced drummers who want to expand their skills.
It's fine to jump in anytime in the series. If you know Bountou, then you know that each class is fun and packed full of content!
During our classes, we cover:
History of the rhythm
Djembe and Dunun parts
Rudiments and improved sound/technique
Reading/Writing djembe/dunun music
And much more
