The NCJCC is hosting its annual community Passover Seder located at the NCJCC, with the meal provided by Emily’s Catering. Rabbi David Azen will lead the seder. This is a family-friendly event; children are welcome (and kids 3 and under are free!).
Passover commemorates the first time in recorded history that slaves became free - the first time a deity, the God of the Israelites in Jewish Scriptures, said "Let My People Go!" Through an experiential ritual meant to remind participants of the harshness and bitterness of oppression, we emerge renewed and committed to the freedom that ought to be the birthright of every human being.
Tickets are available at https://ncjcc.org/seder/ or by calling 530-477-0922. $35 NCJCC members, $40 non-members, $25 ages 4-12, free under 3.
Doors open at 5:30pm, seder begins at 6pm with matzah and traditional small noshes throughout, and dinner will be served by 7pm.
Because we are holding the seder at the NCJCC, space is limited to 85 people with no possibility of adding more at the last-minute. Please do not delay in registering for the event! No one will be turned away for lack of funds, however reservations and prior arrangements are required.
Menu by Emily's Catering:
- Matzah ball soup
- Gefilte fish
- Chicken Provencal, or
- Stuffed portobello mushroom with quinoa (vegan option)
- Roasted lemon asparagus
- Rosemary & garlic roasted potatoes
- Macaroons for dessert
To support our March and April Social Action cause, please bring diapers and wipes to the seder to donate to the Nevada County Diaper Project in honor of baby Moses! Thank you!
