Pasadena: Global Run Culture & Storytelling Event

Ten years ago issue #1 of Like the Wind magazine was launched to inspire a global run community. A decade later and the magazine is still committed to telling stories that explore running culture around the world.

To celebrate the milestones of 10 years and 40 editions of the magazine, we are touring the US uncovering reasons Why We Run from LtW readers and runners around the country.

We've teamed up with Run With Us Pasadena in Pasadena, CA to host an evening of global run culture, storytelling and connecting with fellow runners.

Guest speakers sharing their running journey will include Mayra Garcia, Kate Olson, Ingrid Walters, Lidia Garcia and Julie Freeman. A four mile run will start at 6pm, at the usual Run With Us Pasadena Monday Fun Run time, and panel discussion starts at 7pm.

On this panel, moderated by Jinghuan Liu Tervalon (@sandychannel), we'll discuss the following: navigating depression and cancer, career transition, organizing a community race, curating running resources, advocating for others, making running more accessible, and more. There'll be pizza and drinks!

Run With Us has always believed that it is essential to have runners helping runners—the staff has first hand experience with running injuries, training programs for everything from high school cross country to marathon racing, and most importantly, they know shoes!
