Description
With a partner you can move to places you can
not be by yourself. Expand your possibilities to
move effortlessly together. Integrating new tools
and tricks into your vocabulary.
In this partnering workshop we create an efficient and dynamic movement language to move together with a partner. For us, partnering lives from the constant exchange of energies and movements between the two people and the surrounding space. In the warm-up we open our awareness for space, body and partner. Moving into tools to create a clear movement language and understanding with the partner, using spirals and principles inspired by martial arts. By studying the physical momentum and ways to recycle energy we are able to move away from stereotype roles for lifting. We share set material to practice specific lifts and principles within a movement flow.
Here is what you can expect:
- Learn Partnering Principles: Directing your weight, using motion of your center
- Understand the Mechanics of Jumps and Lifts: Explore different tricks and lifts, finding efficiency in them rather than just using muscle power
- Dynamic Change of Roles: No fixed or stereotype roles for flying and supporting
- Set Movement Material: Practice the elements and principles within a short choreography

Bio Elke Kalupar:
Elke Kalupar is a performer and dancer based in Berlin. After graduating in sports science, she completed her dance training at the VARIUM espai de moviment school in Barcelona. She then
continued performing and teaching in Germany, Spain, Italy and Poland.
Elke worked with multiple international choreographers such as Nadine Gerspacher, Nicolas Ricchini, Vero Cendoya and Tamara Gvozdenovic.
Elke also performed her own pieces, including "HIGHER STRUCTURE DEMON" at Art Biesenthal 2023 in collaboration with musician Fabian Kalker.
With her initiative AKZEPTANZ movement, Elke pursues her very own artistic practice that uses movement as a tool for connection and reflection. With a strong focus on improvisation and partnering, her work explores the depths of human interaction. In the performative space, she creates a microcosm that serves as a mirror and makes external circumstances tangible.
Bio Andrea Valenti:
Andrea Valenti is a professional contemporary dance teacher and performer based in Berlin.
He has been working for Garbicz Festival (2023) and he worked as Performer among the others, for: Felipe Fizkal in the Festival “Against the Grain” in TheaterForum Kreuzberg (DE), Companhia de Dança de Matosinhos with the choreographer Sara Silva, Horacio Macacua, Mafalda Deville and Giovanni Di Cicco.
He focuses his research and teaching experience mostly on: Flying Low, AcroFloorwork, Partnering and Improvisation.
He has been called as teacher in Professional Schools and Festivals among the others: “Danceworks Berlin 3 years professional dance education”, Berlin (DE); “Berlin Dance Institute”, Berlin (DE); “International TanzWorkshop” in Schermbeck, Düsseldorf (DE); “International TanzWorkshop” in Dresden (DE).
He has a Master in Mathematical Engineering and a career as Researcher in Neuroscience.
In 2023, he created the Salento International Contemporary Dance, SIC Dance Festival, an international platform for studying and performing.
He integrates his Master in Coaching and his High School and University Tutor experience in his current job as dance trainer and pedagogue.
