Beginning Screen Print — Part 2
If you already feel comfortable using a squeegee and setting up a press, or just took Day 1 of our intro class, join us for Day 2, when we will learn how to work with photo-sensitive emulsion:
How to coat a screen.
How to make a stencil for photo-sensitive emulsion.
How to burn your design onto the screen.
More squeegee technique!
How to reclaim a screen.
As a beginning class, we will be making stencils by hand. To maximize ink-pulling time, no computer-generated images will be printed. Students are encouraged to approach their image-making with curiosity, flexibility, and teamwork. Together, we’re learning how to do something new! At the end of the day, you will have an understanding of the process of making a screen and pulling ink with your ever-improving squeegee skills. This class will set you up for feeling comfortable working at Open Studio days with some assistance.
