Join the Coastal Bend Parkinsons Support group on June 15th at the Mirador Retirement Community. Topic of discussion is how we cope with our frustrations and methods and techniques to deal with the emotional stress that comes with PD and for our families and caregivers. Also just come out and network with fellow PD people of the community and let’s create some connections.
Guest Speaker: Alison Joyal with My Healing Center of South Texas
She is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate who serves children and women at My Healing Center of South Texas, under the supervision of Dr. Kate Rodriguez.
Currently, she is a doctoral student at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi studying counselor education. Joyal is involved as both a leader and advocate at the local, state, and national levels in the field of professional counseling.
She is experienced in working with children, women, and Latino populations across various settings. She began her career supporting pediatric patients and families facing pediatric cancer and other chronic diagnoses.
Since then, she has actively increased her presence in the community and hopes to continue increasing access to mental health care services for minority, underserved populations.
