About this Event
ABOUT THE EVENT
We are so excited to have Scott Carpenter back at the Alliance, and this time in person! In 2020 he presented his first book, French Like Moi: A Midwesterner in Paris, for which he won a Next Generation Indie Book Award, and absolutely charmed our audience. Now, Carpenter will be back and this time en personne at the Alliance to talk about his new book Paris Lost & Found: A Memoir of Love, in which he returns to the 'scene of the crime' with more tales of intrigue. This time, he’s reeling from loss—and hoping the City of Light will come to his rescue...
EVENT FORMAT
Doors open at 6:30pm. Conversation starts at 7:00pm. Light reception to follow.

ABOUT THE BOOK
Paris Lost & Found: A Memoir of Love by Scott Dominic Carpenter
What to do when life smacks you down? Head for Paris, of course!
From bizarre encounters on the Metro to comical clashes with authority figures, including a quixotic battle against a flock of migrant parrots, and even the tribulations of dating, Paris Lost and Found unveils sides of the great city that are as quirky as they are authentic. With a unique blend of wit, insight, and wistfulness, Carpenter charts a path through a labyrinth of challenges—only to emerge on the other side, squinting into the bright light of hope and new beginnings.
