About this Event

"My friend is not coming for playtime"

"I want to play outside and not come inside for dinner"

"My brother is climbing on the tree, but I can'´t even reach the lowest branch"

"My piece of cake is smaller than yours"

Frustration arises. Sound familiar?

Frustration simply means: something is not working for me! Something is not going the way I want it!

Part of life are frustrations, and kids don’t come pre-programmed with frustration management skills! Fortunately, with a little bit of guidance and a lot of patience, you can help your child develop coping strategies to deal with frustrations both large and small.

Our Children need us to learn how to deal with frustration – the adaptation process

True adaptation is the process by which we are changed by that which we cannot change. What leads us to adaptation is tears. Tears are the sign that the emotional brain has come to terms with the fact that action will not produce change. Tears are a sign of “letting go.” When we let go of what we hoped for, we can make room for what is to come.

Learn how to deal with your child´s frustration with empathy and open heart and their tendency to be aggressive diminishes greatly and they start to seek their parent’s support rather than lash out.  A big step!
