Trauma and grief are complex issues that everyone will face. As parents, we struggle with how to help our children navigate these issues while we are also trying to navigate loss and trauma ourselves. Join us as Dr. Gordon Bals helps parents learn how to address this from a biblical perspective. When: Wednesday nights 9/18-10/2 from 6:30-7:30PM
Who will benefit from this class? Anyone will benefit from this class, even those without children. Dr. Bals will be discussing grief in broad terms, but he will also be addressing parents with children from preschoolers through college.
About Dr. Bals: Gordon is the Associate Professor of Pastoral Care and Counseling at Beeson Divinity School and director of their Christian Counseling program. He founded Daymark Pastoral Counseling in 1997 and worked as an adolescent and family counselor and as an Assistant Pastor at a local church prior to that. He authored two books: Common Ground: Discovering God’s Redemption in Your Marriage and Grace from Head to Heart: Experiencing God's Kindness in a Fallen World. Finally, Gordon has been married since 1990 and has three grown daughters and a son-in-law.
