About this Event
🌶️ A Book Club for Moms Raising Big-Feeling Kids
(and for moms who may be spicy and having big feelings themselves)
If you’re parenting a beautifully bold, deeply feeling, wildly spirited child-this space is for you. If you are intentional about how you are parenting your kiddo and crave connection where there isn't shame, but there is also room to grow, heal, and learn in our roles as mothers- this is the book club for you.
This book club is a gathering place for moms who crave connection, honest conversations, and intentional support as we learn how to guide-not tame-our spicy ones. Together, we’ll reflect, share stories, and explore what it means to parent with presence, compassion, and nervous-system steadiness… even in the chaos.
Kiln has coffee, lattes, and tea available for us to make before we start. If you'd like a drink please come a few minutes early so we can start on time.
📖 The Book We’re Reading
Parenting A Spicy One
A Compassionate Guide for Raising a Deep-Feeling and Wonderfully Strong-Willed Kid
by Mary Van Geffin
(see more about the book and Mary Van Geffen here: https://www.instagram.com/maryvangeffen/)
I was lucky enough to have an early reader copy of this book and I finally have a book to recommend for parenting. This book is a real, tangible guide filled with practical tools, soulful insight, and deep encouragement for moms navigating kids with big energy and even bigger opinions.
To become the mom you want to be, you’ll have to tune inward-beyond expert voices, well-meaning advice, and the noise of “shoulds.” This book helps you name your parenting intention and practice the skills needed to embody it.
Inside, Mary shows us what success can look like when you’re parenting a dominant, strong-willed child who has zero percent interest in people-pleasing. You’ll explore the bold question:
Who do I want to be as a parent-regardless of how my child is behaving?
