📍 Location: Ukrainian American Community Center
301 NE Main St, Minneapolis, MN 55413 (Front Room)
Join us for a meaningful and supportive gathering designed for Ukrainian parents and caregivers.
This free community workshop will focus on how to emotionally support children who have experienced the trauma of war and forced displacement.
💬 Key Highlights:
Psychotherapist and children’s book author Dr. Janice Cohn will offer ways parents can make a real difference in their children’s resilience. She will share how children are affected by fear of separation and anxiety, offering moving insights from her visits to schools.
Paolo Volpati-Kedra, volunteer with World Central Kitchen in Przemysl, will share his first-hand experiences with Ukrainian refugee children in Poland and how food and kindness can help in healing.
Together, Dr. Cohn and Paolo will discuss the creation of Freedom Pancakes for Ukraine — a story born from compassion, volunteer work, and the belief that young people can transform feelings of helplessness into meaningful action for the children of Ukraine.
Moderated by Maria Doan (UACC, UNWLA).
A Q&A session will follow.
Food, tea, and coffee will be served.
Ukrainian interpretation will be provided.
👨👩👧👦 Our Family Mentors for Ukrainian Newcomers strongly encourage all parents to attend this compassionate and important event.
Let’s support one another — and our children — as we build new beginnings together.
