Dear Parents, Carers/Education staff
Welcome to our workshop on Handwriting, Keyboarding, and Cutlery Skills. These fine motor skills are essential for school-aged children, supporting not only academic success but also independence, confidence, and participation in everyday life. Children rely on the small muscles in their hands and fingers for tasks such as writing, drawing, tying shoelaces, and using cutlery. In this interactive session, our Paediatric Occupational Therapy team will guide you through the importance of fine motor development, highlight common red flags, and share practical strategies to use at home and school. You will take part in engaging activity ideas—from origami to clay modelling that strengthen hand muscles, improve coordination, and make learning fun. By the end of the workshop, you will leave with tips, resources, and hands-on strategies to help your child thrive.
