Parent Education Class for Black Women, 13th June

'Safe in our Hands @ RFL' came about in response to the annual MBRACE report which demonstrated alarming inequalities within healthcare, with the mortality rate for black women 2.8 x greater than white women, and 1.8 x greater for Asian women.

Therefore, Royal Free London have developed a series of antenatal classes, specifically tailored to women and birthing people from global majority groups.

The first classes are underway are for Black women and their families. The classes cover lots of useful information regarding pregnancy, labour, infant feeding and caring for your baby; with specific content including risk factors, diet and lifestyle, mental health support during pregnancy and informed decision making. As well as an opportunity for attendees to share their feelings and experiences with our Midwives in a safe, supportive environment.
