A fun parent and child workshop where you will create your own Mexican ‘Day of the Dead’ 2 colour reduction print.
About this Event

In this beginners workshop Natasha will take you and your child through the block printing reduction technique. All materials will be provided and there will also be spare blocks and materials to do your own freeform work and experiment. You will have your own unique Sugar Skull prints to take home.
The artwork is based on the Mexican ‘Sugar skulls’ which are created as ornamental gifts for family members during the Mexican Day of the Dead celebrations. They are highly decorative and brightly coloured to celebrate the lives of those who have passed. In this project we use the reduction printmaking process to create our own Mexican Day of the Dead Sugar Skulls. Reduction printmaking is the process of creating a multi coloured print using one printing surface. In this project we use craft foam and press our pencil in to the foam to make lines. We make more patterns between each print, reducing the area that is printed.

Good to know

Price is for 2 places (adult + child) Each child must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult.

Suitable for Ages 9+

It shouldn’t be a messy session, but it might be worth wearing something that’s OK if it accidentally gets a little ink on it.

Prints may need to be collected later from T&T (if they need time to dry after the session)

Unfortunately our workroom is not wheelchair accessible
