About this Event
Join us on March 6th from 5–9 PM for Parallel Path: The Long Ride Home, an exhibition featuring the work of Ron Tarver and Vinetta Miller.
Vinetta Miller is an artist at Center for Creative Works, a progressive art studio dedicated to the professional development and representation of neurodivergent artists. In this exhibition, Miller presents a powerful visual interpretation of Tarver’s celebrated photography book, The Long Ride Home: Black Cowboys in America.
Ron Tarver, Associate Professor of Art at Swarthmore College, documents the lives and legacy of Black cowboys across the United States in The Long Ride Home. Drawing from the compelling imagery in his book, Miller reinterprets selected photographs through her own artistic lens, using acrylic paint, acrylic markers, and oil pastel.
The exhibition will present Tarver’s photographs alongside Miller’s vibrant, expressive works, shown side by side in dialogue. Parallel Path: The Long Ride Home creates a dynamic conversation between photography and painting, offering viewers a layered perspective on history, identity, and contemporary interpretation.
We hope you can join us to experience this remarkable collaboration.
