recent paintings by Franyo Aatoth
During the exhibition of new paintings by Rens Lipsius, The Day Dawning over the Save River, there will be a Parallel Exhibition II, Botanique, recent paintings by Franyo Aatoth, who works from a studio in the jungle in Thailand, while Rens’ paintings are based upon studies made in the bush of Zimbabwe.
Opening on Saturday 11 May 2024, from 3 till 7pm.
11 May, at 5 p.m. there will be an exchange between Rens Lipsius and Franyo Aatoth
Both exhibitions will run till 2 June 2024 and are open on Saturdays and Sundays from 3-7 pm except the Sundays with an event when we close doors at 5 pm
The exhibitions will be accompanied by a number of special events.
Franyo AATOTH is an artist of Hungarian origin living between Paris and Thailand (Prachuap Khiri Khan district). Franyo is an artist with a strong sensitivity to social issues, which he treats in his works with a humour enriched by his contact with nature. This multi-talented artist is a painter, photographer and creator of exceptional graphic works. Upon his arrival in Paris in the late 70s, he was mentored by Victor Vasarely and worked for 5 years with sculptor Ervin Patkaï. As a graphic designer of conceptual images, he created numerous visuals for the renowned French rock band Noir Désir. These included album covers and theatrical sets for the band's concerts. Franyo AATOTH has a keen interest in world languages. He is the author of the famous Petit Iivre Rouge, le dictionnaire du zingueur international en 20 langues (eight editions between 2000 and 2018). In 2010, he moved to Thailand and built a workshop on the edge of the Pa La U jungle, near the border with Myanmar. This direct contact with nature completely changed his outlook. His pictorial work has become increasingly meditative, reflecting the discovery of a new reality, and keeping his Hungarian identity while he works on his Asian origins.
His works have been exhibited from Asia to Europe.

Pendant l'exposition de nouvelles peintures de Rens Lipsius, The Day Dawning over the Save River, il y aura une exposition parallèle II, Botanique, des peintures récentes de Franyo Aatoth, qui travaille à partir d'un studio dans la jungle en Thaïlande, tandis que les peintures de Rens sont basées sur des études faites dans la brousse du Zimbabwe.
Vernissage le samedi 11 mai 2024, de 15h à 19h.
Le 11 mai, à 17 heures, il y aura un échange entre Rens Lipsius et Franyo Aatoth.
Les deux expositions se poursuivront jusqu'au 2 juin 2024 et sont ouvertes les samedis et dimanches de 15h à 19h, sauf les dimanches avec événement où nous fermons les portes à 17h.

Ces créations comprenaient plusieurs types de supports, notamment des pochettes d'album et des décors de théâtre réalisés pour les concerts du groupe. Franyo AATOTH s'intéresse beaucoup aux langues du monde. Il est l'auteur du célèbre Petit Iivre Rouge, le dictionnaire du zingueur international en 20 langues (huit éditions entre 2000 et 2018). En 2010, il s'installe en Thaïlande et construit un atelier à la lisière de la jungle de Pa La U, près de la frontière avec Myanmar. Ce contact direct avec la nature a complètement changé son optique. Son travail pictural est devenu de plus en plus méditatif, reflétant la découverte d’une nouvelle réalité, et gardant son identité hongroise alors qu’il travaille sur ses origines asiatiques.
Son travail a été exposé de l’Asie à l’Europe.
