Learn the art of paper quilling by making an upcycled summertime floral creation. Paper quilling is a papercraft created by twirling thin pieces of paper around special tools to form unique designs and pictures. In this class designed for beginners, students will learn about basic paper quilling techniques, how to make their own sustainable DIY tools, and experiment with a variety of colors and quilling techniques.
Projects will vary in size and will be made on upcycled canvases, which includes scrapbook paper(s), matboard, and a basketweaving D-handle repurposed into a painted frame. All materials are provided. Students not able to complete the project in class will go home with enough supplies and tools to finish at home.
*Please Note: Paper quilling requires using your hands in repetitive motions.
