About this Event
Paper Lithography is a fun and accessible monoprint process similar to traditional lithography, using photocopies in place of a stone. In traditional lithography, a wax-based drawing tool is used, which bonds with oil-based ink. In paper lithography, wax-based, laser-printed photocopies act in the same way. The oil-based ink is then transferred to paper or fabric. High-contrast black-and-white images of photographs or drawings can be used to create one-of-a-kind prints.
In this workshop, you’ll learn how images are prepared for photocopies and how to print by hand and with a press. Participants will leave with prints they’ve made. Bring a notebook, wear clothes you can get inky, and comfortable shoes. All supplies are provided.
Shannon Bodrogi is a mixed-media printmaker who has been practicing paper lithography for over a decade.
