I Opened the Window and in Flew Enza, a Pandemic walking tour of downtown Norwich. The influenza killed over 800 in New London County in a little over three months in 1918, while local boys were dying on the Western Front in France. Downtown Norwich was the site of a hospital to take care of influenza patients, as the city struggled to battle the pandemic.
