About this Event
This evening brings together voices from the Estonian music and film scene. The night opens with an award-winning documentary that redefines the meaning of collective care and female solidarity — and continues with a concert program in which Nordic and Baltic traditions meet contemporary sound. The event unfolds in three movements: reflection, resonance, and ritual.
Programme
Film Screening – Smoke Sauna SisterhoodDirected by Anna HintsThis deeply intimate documentary offers a rare look inside the smoke saunas of southern Estonia — spaces where women come together to share, heal, and be. Winner of the Directing Award at Sundance and the European Film Award for Best Documentary in 2023.
Tuulikki Bartosik & Sander Mölder (Live Performance)A meeting of accordion, electronics, and compositional finesse. Tuulikki is known for her boundary-pushing approach to traditional instruments, while Sander brings his expertise in electronic, classical, and dance music. Their collaborative set bridges folk heritage and modern sound design.
Mari Kalkun (Concert)One of Estonia’s most celebrated voices, Mari Kalkun draws on ancient runo-song traditions and contemporary poetry — often sung in Võro, one of the oldest languages in Europe. Her music is rooted in nature, myth, and memory. Deeply personal, yet resonant far beyond borders.
