Das Bob Spice Quartet verbindet die spontane Ausdruckskraft und Vitalität des Jazz mit dem melodischen Reichtum und der strukturellen Vielfalt der Klassik.
Unterstützt von einer frei atmenden und pulsierenden Rhythmusgruppe aus Bass und Schlagzeug, erzeugen Posaune, Klarinette und Saxophon ein vielschichtiges und ineinander verwobenes Geflecht an Stimmungen und Melodien.
Die ausdrucksvollen, fantasievollen und originellen Eigenkompositionen schöpfen aus dem melodischen Fundus kontrapunktischer Linienführung und lassen viel Raum für den individuellen Ausdruck, die spontane Interaktion und Improvisation der Musiker.

Chamber Jazz from Berlin

The Bob Spice Quartet combines the spontaneous expressive power and vitality of jazz with the melodic richness and structural diversity of classical music.
Supported by a freely breathing and pulsating rhythm section of bass and drums, trombone, clarinet, and saxophone create a multi-layered, tightly interwoven fabric of moods and melodies.
The expressive, imaginative, and original compositions draw on the melodic reservoir of contrapuntal writing and leave ample space for individual expression, spontaneous interaction, and improvisation by the musicians.
